Construction

• Alpinestars has introduced a new in-house standard for the SM3 helmet to test the chin area beyond the homologation standard, with shell thickness and helmet structure optimized at the chin for the SM3 design.
• The shell design uses varied thickness zones to refine the helmet’s structural layout and maintain a low-weight construction.
• The inner and outer surfaces are engineered with a layered profile to reduce the effects of oblique impacts.
• The helmet includes an Emergency Release System and removable cheek pads for controlled pad removal while the helmet is still on; the interior uses 3D contoured foam for the liner shape.
• A soft 25 mm textile chin strap is paired with stainless steel D-rings for the retention system.
