The SM3 Youth is the latest evolution of Alpinestars’ MX helmet, anatomically developed specifically for younger riders tackling motocross, enduro and off-road terrain.
Drawing on technologies from the adult helmet range, it combines lightweight construction, advanced impact management and high-flow ventilation for confident performance in demanding conditions.
A youth-specific fit architecture with adaptable sizing helps deliver lasting comfort, stability and protection as skills and riders progress.

Key Features

• Visor airflow channeling: the visor shape helps guide air into the helmet’s ports, supporting stronger internal circulation when conditions get hot and pace rises.
• Hydration tube routing: integrated cheek-pad channels keep the hose neatly positioned, making it easier to drink on the move without breaking concentration.
• Recycled comfort liner: the interior liner uses recycled materials to deliver a softer next-to-skin feel with a lower-impact construction approach.
• Grow-with-rider fit: Youth Medium and Youth Large share the same EPS size, allowing the helmet to be reconfigured as the rider develops.
• Dedicated youth small fit: Youth Small uses its own smaller EPS size and cheek-pad tuning for a purpose-built fit for younger riders.

Protection

• Multi-density inner liner positions the correct density in the correct area for enhanced impact absorption.
• The inner and outer surfaces are engineered to minimize the effects of oblique impacts.
• Alpinestars patented low-friction coating on the inner part of the main EPS liner reduces rotational acceleration forces generated by certain oblique impacts, acting as a slip plane.
• Patented visor release system is calibrated to release with a predetermined amount of force to help reduce forces transmitted to the rider’s neck during an impact.
• 25mm chin strap provides secure helmet retention.

Construction

• Alpinestars in-house safety standard applies additional chin-area testing beyond homologation requirements, with optimized shell thickness and helmet structure in the chin zone.
• Emergency Release System and removable cheek pads are integrated for controlled pad removal, with 3D contoured foam used in the interior assembly.
• Stainless steel D-rings are used for the retention system.
• The helmet conforms to DOT certification and ECE 2206 homologation.
